Making Money By Hosting Your Own eBay Website

Using Your Own Website to Promote Your EBay products

EBay is certainly a huge website that gets millions of visitors every day. This gives you a lot of possible bidders for your products, but how many of them are really interested in the items that you’re selling there? A few is probably more to the truth, so you will want to advertise those products elsewhere to up your chances for making a good profit.

Your own website is the perfect place to start. If your website is fairly popular then you have the best customers right there at your fingertips. They’re interested in the topic of your website, so why not place either a link or banner to your eBay store on your website, so they can check out what you are offering.

It doesn’t really matter if you’re site is one that sells items already or if it’s just one that offers information on a certain subject. Either will work as long as your marketing plan is executed properly. Here are some things to keep in mind to help give you the best chances of exposure to your eBay items:

Link to products that are related to the subject of your site. You will want to keep the search engines happy, so sell items that are related to your site’s subject and link to those. Those who find their way to your eBay store can browse through the other products once they get there. If your site is about cars then you would want to link items relating to cars to get prospective bidders to your eBay store to see what you are offering.

Use banners that show off your items. While simply linking to the products is okay, it would help to have banners that show pics of the items and give prices so the visitors can see them at one glance. There are places on the internet that you can use to create your own banners that will show the pics of the items give prices and show the ending times of the auctions. Bidders will be more interested if they see the items they want right away and not have to search through your whole store to find them.

Keep updating your website with fresh content- Again; you will want to keep the search engines happy with your site, so they’ll index it for the search results pages. Without the search engines, you won’t have the abundance of visitors you need to come to your site and see the eBay products that you are offering. Keep the site updated on a regular basis.

Your website is one of the best ways to advertise your eBay items so you can gain the exposure needed to increase the number of bidders to your products. The more bidders you gain on one auction, the higher the amount of the bid. The higher the amount, the more money you gain from just off of one product.
